Steven began his career in the construction industry in 2005 as a carpenter’s apprentice for a builder in Virginia Beach. His strong work ethic and natural aptitude allowed him to advance quickly, eventually joining one of the largest commercial and residential general contracting firms in the Mid-Atlantic region, based in Richmond, VA. Over the next 13 years, he refined his expertise as a lead carpenter and foreman, successfully managing a broad range of projects with precision and professionalism.

In 2020, driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, Steven stepped away from the comfort of a large firm to build his own path. He earned his Class A Contractor’s License in both Residential and Commercial Improvement and began operating independently. Working on his own strengthened his discipline, deepened his commitment to craftsmanship, and highlighted the importance of clear, respectful communication with every client.

In September 2025, Steven expanded his vision by partnering SJB Contracting with Red Cedar Management to form a new venture. This partnership created greater opportunities, enhanced capabilities, and broadened the range of services offered—allowing both companies to deliver even more value to their clients.

Outside of work, Steven enjoys traveling, staying active, and spending quality time with his family. With children ages 2, 9, and 13, life stays full and busy—but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
